Round 4 - AMA National Grand Prix Championship
TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. – After an intense battle for the Pro class victory at Sunday’s Hilltoppers GP, FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Dante Oliveira finished on the third-step of the podium with a hard-fought performance in Twentynine Palms, California. Four rounds into the 2022 AMA National Grand Prix Championship, the defending champion maintains strong footing with four consistent podium finishes behind him.

With a great jump off the line, Oliveira captured the holeshot aboard his KTM 450 XC-F and he made an early charge with a clear track in the first few laps. Halfway through the race, Oliveira was overtaken for the lead and he fought back from the second-place position for the next lap. Attempting to regain the lead through the fast and loose track, Oliveira ended up losing another spot to third and he maintained a close battle all the way to the finish.

Dante Oliveira: “I ripped an awesome holeshot, put my head down early on and was just hitting my lines. I thought I was flowing pretty well, I had Dalton and Cole on my heels though, and we were all going super-fast. Coming down the pro section, the lap after we pitted, Dalton ended up sending it around me and I tried to make a move back on him but he wanted it today. I settled in and Cole got around me again, so I ended up settling for third. It was a good course, Hilltoppers MC did an awesome job this weekend. I’m going to re-group this week and come out firing!”

In the Pro 2 division, FMF RPM KTM Racing Team’s Mateo Oliveira led from start to finish, extending his undefeated streak to four-in-a-row this season. Additionally, KTM-mounted rider Colton Aeck earned his first podium finish of the year with a solid third in the Pro 2 class.

KTM-supported rider Brandy Richards had another dominant performance at Round 4, lapping the rest of the class yet again to take the Pro Women’s class victory and further extend her perfect season in the class. Finishing behind Richards was KTM-mounted rider, Kaitlyn Jacobs, who picked up her first podium finish of the series with a runner-up performance on Sunday.
