Round 5 - AMA East Extreme Championship
LITTLE HOCKING, Ohio – FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart dominated Sunday’s Bad Medicine at Fallen Timbers, where he claimed victory by an overwhelming 13+ minutes after four brutal hours of racing. With five rounds complete in the AMA East Extreme Championship, Hart has now overtaken the regional points lead with one round remaining in the series.

With a two-day format, the race weekend kicked off on Saturday with a pair of qualifiers that would seed starting position for Sunday’s Main Event. Hart put together solid 3-2 finishes for second overall in qualifying, while his teammate, Taylor Robert, went 5-4 for fourth overall, giving both KTM riders a sufficient start position heading into the big race on Sunday.

With heavy rainfall coming down on Friday and Saturday, the three-hour plus one-lap Main Event proved to be even more challenging than expected due to the slick conditions. Hart positioned himself in second-place off the start and Robert followed close behind in third. By the end of lap one, Hart had powered his KTM 300 XC-W TPI into the lead with a three-minute gap over second-place, while Robert held strong inside the top-five early on.

Hart continued to chip away out front, building his lead up to over 10-minutes heading into the final stretch of the grueling race. After a little more than four hours of racing, Hart ultimately secured victory by almost 13 and half minutes.

Trystan Hart: “It was a fun weekend at Ohio. We had lots of rain leading up to the race and with the clay dirt, we knew it was going to be an extremely difficult race. I had a very good start in the Main Event, which proved to be very important. I played it safe for a little bit, before getting into a grove and trying my best to keep it on two wheels for the remainder of the race. I’m extremely pumped to get my sixth win of the season at possibly one of the hardest tracks of the year!”

Robert maintained a top-five position for the first half of racing but he made a few mistakes and slipped back to seventh mid-way through and from there he rode consistently to secure seventh on the day.

Next Race: Round 6 EEC – August 7 – Battle of the Goats in Taylorsville, North Carolina
