Round 8 - AMA U.S. Hard Enduro Series
SUGARLOAF, Pa. – FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart put an exclamation point on a dominant season in the 2022 AMA U.S. Hard Enduro Series, claiming his seventh-straight victory at the series finale in Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania. Winning every race he entered in the series, Hart wrapped up the AMA East Extreme Championship on Sunday, as well as securing the overall series championship.

Set to receive the overall No. 1 plate at the AMA Extreme Off-Road Grand Championship’s Tennessee Knockout next month, Hart put his KTM 300 XC-W TPI into a great start position after a day of hard-fought battles on Saturday. Swapping each of the two “qualifier” race-wins with Ryder Leblond, each rider topping the other by a mere second in the two qualifiers, Hart came into Sunday’s race feeling confident and ready to take on the Locked and Loaded event.

Setting the stage for battle, Sunday’s race was a five-hour hare scramble with extremely challenging terrain that consisted of miles upon miles of rock gardens, steep up-hills and other tricky obstacles. Hart got off to a second-place start, trailing his closest competitor, Leblond, for a few miles before making his early move into the lead. The defending series champion set a good pace out front but he really separated himself from the rest of the field later on, when he proved to be the only rider to get through the toughest section fairly clean. From there, he was in a race of his own, coming through the finish as the first of only five riders to complete two laps, and a whopping 47 minutes ahead of the second-place rider.

Trystan Hart: “The High Mountain Dirt Riders did an awesome job with a really challenging course! It was possibly the hardest race of the year on. I got a second-place start behind Ryder and I kind of figured he was going to be my biggest competition because he’s been super close all year and I know he really wanted to win before the year was over. He made a small mistake and I got around him, and then we were kind of all bunched up. We got to a really hard section and I got through it somewhat clean and I guess everyone else kind of got stuck, so from there on out, I pretty much rode by myself the rest of the race. It’s cool to get my seventh win in a row and to win every race I entered in the series, and also to get the overall championship, too.”
