MACKENZIE TRICKER CLINCHES WOMENS ELITE CHAMPIONSHIP IN ALABAMA
Round 10 - AMA National Enduro Series
STANTON, Ala. – The last round of the AMA National Enduro Championship saw FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Josh Toth dominate from start to finish at the Gobbler Getter National Enduro. Capturing his first overall-win of the year by virtue of sweeping all six test-wins aboard his KTM 350 XC-F, Toth also seized the “bounty” offered by the series – a pot that had grown to $8,000 throughout the season – in Stanton, Alabama.
Toth made a statement in the opening test, finishing more than 25 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. In the next two tests, the racing was closer, but his skill and determination kept him ahead of the rest of the field. Toth tackled varying terrain throughout the day, from sand to rock to grass track and tight off-camber trails. In Test 4, Toth stretched his lead once again, ending the test more than 15 seconds ahead. He held steady to take the test win in Section 5 and finished the day with a 30-second advantage in the last test, which featured incredibly tight and technical trail. His six podium finishes this year helped propel him to second in the championship.
Josh Toth: “I’m stoked on the day. I started off with the test-win by a good margin, and, from there, I knew I had a chance at the bounty by sweeping all the tests. So, I really gave it 100 percent all day, swept all the tests and came home with the bounty and first place. I'm super stoked.”
Heading into the final round, KTM-mounted Mackenzie Tricker faced a winner-take-all scenario for the championship. She claimed the win at Round 10 to secure her fourth Womens Elite class championship, ending the season with five wins and never finishing off of the podium throughout the year.
Mackenzie Tricker: “Great day today wrapping up my fourth Womens Elite National Enduro title. It was a winner-take-all type of day with the way the championship points were, so I knew I had to be on my A-game. This one was a tough one to win, and went all the way down to the end, but I’m so glad to get it done!”
