Round 5 - AMA National Grand Prix Championship
PRIMM, Nev. – FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Dante Oliveira re-claimed the championship points lead with a crucial victory at Sunday’s Shamrock GP in Primm, Nevada. Having scored podium finishes at the first five rounds of the AMA National Grand Prix Championship, the defending champion looks to shift the momentum forward into the second half of the series.

Capturing another great start aboard his KTM 450 XC-F, Oliveira grabbed the holeshot and immediately pushed his way to an eight-second lead by the end of the first lap. He led wire-to-wire in the nine-lap race, keeping his focus aimed ahead as a hard-charging field of riders battled for podium contention behind him. The tough terrain didn’t make it easy for the No. 1 rider but he kept the pace high as he navigated his way to a 13-second victory after one-hour and 37 minutes of hard racing.

Dante Oliveira: “The race went just how I like it – I got the holeshot and was able to stay out front. The boys were battling hard behind me, so I just had to keep my head straight and hit my lines. There's a lot of rough stuff out there, so it's all about finding smooth lines to get going for the hour-and-a-half. My body felt great and my bike was awesome. We got the points lead back, so I’m stoked for that and ready to fire off the rest of them.”

FMF RPM KTM Racing Team’s Mateo Oliveira got off to a top-three start in the Pro 2 division, working his way into the lead by lap three. Riding a strong race, Mateo extended his undefeated season through Round 5 as he continues to set his focus on the championship crown. KTM-mounted rider Colton Aeck led the first two laps of the race, ultimately securing his second-straight podium finish in third.

In the Pro Women’s class, KTM-supported rider Brandy Richards continued her perfect season in the class, finishing more than two-and-a-half minutes ahead of the second-place rider.
