SAN JUAN, Argentina – The United States World Trophy and Women's World Trophy Teams are inching their way closer to victory at the 97th International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Argentina, after extending their respective advantages on Friday, while the Junior World Trophy Team maintains third in the standings following Day 5.
WORLD TROPHY TEAM (WT)
Day 5 was yet another consistent day for the U.S. team, as FMF KTM Factory Racing duo Taylor Robert and Dante Oliveira greeted the finish flag in P3 and P4 on their 450 XC-Fs, which saw the pair positioned second and third in the E2 class. Two positions behind was Johnny Girroir, who powered his 350 XC-F into sixth place, allowing the United States to extend their margin to a commanding +14:00.98 at the top of the World Trophy standings heading into the final moto tomorrow.

Taylor Robert: “I had a good day today, the water was a little stressful as you never know what can happen there, and it would’ve been unfortunate if we‘d gotten caught out there. We made it through smoothly, that was the game plan we created last night, and it paid off. Built another gap today, now it’s just about getting through tomorrow!”

Dante Oliveira: “Day 5 is complete, it’s been a long week, but we made it through. All in all, it was a good day, struggled a little bit in a couple of tests, the water was gnarly and it was super-rocky, but a little hit and miss on my part. Ready to go moto tomorrow.”

Johnny Girroir:
“I’m happy! Today was good, I clawed my back through the field and into a strong position, but as a team, we’re sitting in a nice place heading into the moto section tomorrow. I couldn’t be more stoked!”

JUNIOR WORLD TROPHY TEAM (JWT)
Mateo Oliveira led Team USA's Junior World Trophy charge on Day 5 of proceedings, racing his 450 XC-F into fourth place in the category, and remaining just outside an individual podium in P4 overall. Eighth place in the category marked a successful outing for KTM-supported Grant Davis, which continues to see the United States JWT effort hold down third place in the classification with one day remaining.

Mateo Oliveira: “I’m happy with how I rode today, I finally cracked a top 10 in a special test with a fifth overall, so I’m pretty stoked with that! Outside of that, it’s been a long week, a long six days, but I feel ready to attack tomorrow and can't wait to hit the moto section to close this thing out.”

WOMEN’S WORLD TROPHY TEAM (WWT)
Day 5 marked another strong performance for the USA’s Women’s World Trophy Team, with KTM racer Brandy Richards leading the way for the team with a P2 performance in class, despite nursing an injury from the day before. Rachel Gutish and Korie Steede placed fifth and sixth, respectively, which sees the U.S. WWT team sit comfortably atop the class leaderboard by a full four hours with only the final moto to go in Argentina tomorrow.

Brandy Richards: “Day 5 was good, I hurt myself a little bit yesterday, making today a survival-type day. It was a bit stressful, especially with the water,  but I’m super-stoked to have put in a solid performance, and now with one final moto tomorrow, I can’t wait to get it underway!”

Korie Steede: “Day 5 was no joke! I wasn’t expecting it to be so gnarly, but together with the team we put in another great day – I’m so proud of everyone for how well we’ve all ridden across what’s been a long week. One to go tomorrow!”
