Round 5 - WORCS - April 14, 2019

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Taylor Robert extended his win-streak to five-in-a-row over the weekend at Round 5 of the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The unique race took place inside the Orleans Arena just outside the Las Vegas strip, throwing a variety of elements into the typical desert racing course.

Robert didn’t get the best jump off the start but he powered his KTM 450 SX-F into the lead by lap seven, making his way around FMF/RPM/KTM Racing Team Maxxis rider Dante Oliveira. Robert and Oliveira continued to engage in battle until Robert gained enough momentum to break away out front. He was able to claim the fastest lap of the race on lap 24, where he ultimately finished 21 seconds ahead of Zach Bell to claim his fifth win of the season.

Robert: “The race in Vegas was awesome, it's always fun to have at least one race in the series that's completely different than all the other races we do. The track had a great mixture of moto, EnduroCross and even a pavement section all packed into a 1:40 lap time. I was happy to be able to throw down some fast laps and pull a gap and take home my fifth win of the season.”

Oliveira had a stellar day, putting himself out front early on as he led the first six laps of the race. From there, Oliveira continued to put up a good fight with Robert before settling into third-place. Oliveira finished out strong to claim another podium finish with third overall on the day.

In Pro 2, FMF/RPM/KTM Racing Team Maxxis rider Cooper Abbott claimed his first victory of the season in the class. His teammate, Austin Serpa, rounded out the podium, where he now leads the championship standings after five rounds.

In Pro 2 Lites, KTM-mounted rider Tyler Nicholson claimed a podium finish in third, while KTM-supported rider, Brandy Richardson, finished just off the podium in fourth.
