Santander Consumer Finance are confirmed as title sponsor for the KTM British Junior Cup for the 2017 season.

Marking a collaboration of three years, Santander Consumer Finance (SCF) UK has prospered from its association with the one-make race series hosted within the popular MCE British Superbike Championship by increasing awareness of its brand and product portfolio.

SCF UK already enjoys a successful relationship with KTM UK, as this division of the Spanish bank provides consumer finance for its network of dealers to allow its customers a broad range of competitive finance for the purchase of new machines along with the option to include KTM PowerParts and PowerWear, under the ‘KTM Finance’ banner.

The Santander Consumer Finance KTM British Junior Cup has run at eight selected rounds within the MCE British Superbike championship since 2015. The series provides racers with a competitive, equal and cost-effective platform to grow and show their talent by utilising the popular RC 390 road bike, modified for racing with a host of KTM PowerParts, upgraded WP suspension and using the Metzeler M7 RR tyre for all racing conditions.

Since its inception the series was open to those aged 13-18, but beginning with the 2017 season this will expand to allow riders up to the age of 22 to compete to bring it inline with other RC Cup championships.

All participants will be fighting for the chance to become a recognised British champion and win some incredible prizes. To ensure focus kept on developing junior riders, there will be separate awards for riders in each category and another incentive for two racers under 16 is the chance to earn a guaranteed place at the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies selection event.

Paul Munns, National Sales Manager – Leisure Finance, from Santander Consumer Finance UK, said: “The decision to continue supporting the series was an easy one. The KTM British Junior Cup racing is always spectacular and provides Santander Consumer Finance with not only excellent brand awareness, but also the chance to engage with potential customers – both businesses and consumers - at the superbly attended British Superbike rounds.”

KTM UK General Manager, Matt Walker, said: “We are very pleased to continue the relationship with Santander Consumer Finance into a third season. The formula behind the KTM British Junior Cup has proved itself over the past two seasons and we’ve seen a wide range of riders; from complete novices or those coming from minimoto, enduro, motocross and even Moto3. All of them have been able to really develop their ability in front of a massive audience. For 2017 we’ve changed the format of the championship and we expect it to be bigger and better than ever. We are Ready to Race!”

Further details regarding the race calendar and series prizes will be released over the coming weeks.
