GLEN HELEN, Calif. – A second-place result continued the podium streak of defending champion Dante Oliveira in Glen Helen's fourth round of the 2023 AMA National Grand Prix Championship (NGPC), where the FMF KTM Factory Racing rider claimed second in the Pro class and teammate Mateo Oliveira finished P7.
The elder Oliveira brother, Dante started the race in third position and was consistently on the pace from there onboard his KTM 450 XC-F, taking control of the runner-up position with three laps to go and that's where he would remain. He continues to lead the championship four rounds into the season.

Dante Oliveira: "I got off to a poor start in about fifth place, and just lacked a little bit of intensity in the first lap and let the leaders get away. After that I put my head down and charged forward, tried to find some smooth lines and just fell short a little bit. I am going to keep my head up and come out swinging at 29 Palms!"

As for FMF KTM Factory Racing teammate Mateo Oliveira, the Pro class rookie was credited seventh position on the KTM 450 XC-F following a hard-fought day at Glen Helen. He displayed immense speed throughout the seven-lap encounter despite being 10th at the end of lap one, and has maintained fifth in points.

Mateo Oliveira: "It was a super-good race track and I had a blast. Not the best result after I ended up seventh, but physically fifth and I rode good. I came around the first lap about 10th and just put my head down and charged all day. I was right with Austin Walton and he is a rider that can win on any given day, so I’m stoked. My pace is there, we will just keep plugging away – it is definitely coming."

The weekend also saw a second victory in a row for KTM-mounted Mikayla Nielsen in the Pro Women category, extending a 10-point advantage in the point-standings following four rounds.
