A test day for the 2016 Santander Consumer Finance KTM British Junior Cup takes place on Saturday February 27 at Brands Hatch in Kent for prospective riders.
The popular Junior race series, run between KTM UK and MSVR within eight rounds of the MCE British Superbike Championship, returns to the track for its second season and is open to riders aged between 13-18. All riders compete on identical ‘Cup’ specification versions of KTM’s class-defining RC 390 machine, fitted with a host of its official PowerParts and other pure race orientated accessories to create a competitive, level platform and excellent introduction into full-size circuit racing.

Places on the test day for potential competitors are strictly limited to 12/18, with riders getting one session of the iconic Kent circuit at no cost on an RC Cup race bike.
All riders who request a place on the test are required to meet the eligibility of the class, not least holding a Novice ACU Road Race licence and be 13 years of age. Series coordinator, Steve Plater, will have the final say on who will be accepted to attend the test to ensure that only genuine applicants apply.

Last year the RC Cup delivered some of the most exciting and spectacular action within the BSB ranks and allowed its junior riders to showcase their talent in front of the teams that make up the most competitive domestic motorcycle race series in the world, as well as tens of thousands of fans both trackside and viewing the action on television.

As in 2015, the series will send two qualifying riders to participate at the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies selection process at the end of the year for a chance at racing within the Grand Prix paddock. As well as prizes for the top three finishers at each round, a host of incredible rewards will soon be announced for the top three championship positions.

KTM Sportmotorcycle UK Marketing Manager, Simon Belton, said: “KTM is the READY TO RACE brand and is committed to the RC Cup programme, both in the UK and across the world. Thanks to MSVR, Santander Consumer Finance and our other fantastic partners, we are once again able to offer an affordable and high-profile junior road racing series within British Superbikes in 2016.

“With plenty of time before the first round in April, the idea of the Junior Test Day is to give young riders and their families and teams the chance to find out more about the series and sample the RC 390 Cup machine on track. If seeing is believing, then riding takes it to another level.”
