In 2016, the Santander Consumer Finance KTM British Junior Cup will not only offer riders a high profile and competitive platform to grow and showcase their road racing talents, there’s also some great prizes to be won.

The short-circuit based race series is open to riders aged 13-18 where they will run identical specification KTM RC 390 Cup machines in order to nurture their ability across eight rounds and 20 races, as a support class within the MCE British Superbike Championship. The racing was spectacular in 2015 and its graduates have progressed to Moto3 and Supersport classes.

As well as the prestige and increased profile of becoming a British Champion, the 2016 RC Cup series winner will be presented with a brand new 2017 KTM 125 SX motocross machine – worth £5699 - in order to keep sharp and train hard during the winter off season.

Runner-up in the standings will receive one-to-one training at a circuit with multiple British Champion and RC Cup series ambassador, Steve Plater, along with a KTM OGIO kit bag worth £200. The third placed rider will get one-to-one coaching for the day at the KTM MX Experience along with new motocross riding clothing in a package worth £500.

As well as the end of season rewards, race winners will get a pair of Metzeler M7 RRs – the control tyre for the series – with second and third places also receiving single tyres. On top of these prizes, the two riders judged to have demonstrated the most promise throughout the season will have a place in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup try-outs at the end of the year in order to continue their rate of progression.

With the KTM-powered junior series providing some of the most spectacular racing throughout the 2015 season, Santander Consumer Finance have once again committed as title sponsor of the series. The firm’s bold red logo will once again adorn the single cylinder machines and the renewed agreement will allow Santander Consumer Finance to capitalise on the momentum gathered throughout last year to increase awareness of its finance services to the motorcycle industry, within the popularity of the MCE British Superbike Championship.

Ahead of the first round of the exciting junior circuit race series on April 8-10, KTM has revealed the new livery for the RC 390 Cup race machines. Lincolnshire-based LR Designs (one of KTM's licensees) have created the new livery design which will be supplied to all competitors of the series for no charge. Riders can also take advantage of LR’s skills to provide additional decals for personal sponsors that will fit perfectly to the lines of the RC Cup machine.

There is still time to be on the grid permanently or just to try it out, for the first race of the 2016 Santander Consumer Finance KTM British Junior Cup on April 8-10. Visit www.ktmRCcup.com or contact simon.belton@ktm.com for more information.
