HURRICANE MILLS, Tenn. - KTM riders have achieved a total of 13 national championships during the 2023 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the famed Loretta Lynn's Ranch, putting some of the world’s best young talent to the test as riders were met with a raft of weather conditions to contend with across race week.
KTM Orange Brigade Elite racer Julien Beaumer experienced an up-and-down campaign, displaying immense pace with two of three moto victories in 250 Pro Sport. P17 in moto two after a fall and being caught beneath the motorcycle kept him from the podium position with P4 overall, while in the Open Pro Sport Class, Beaumer secured 6-2-15 results for sixth overall.

Fellow Elite team rider Preston Boespflug endured a more challenging week of action, affected by his gate picks early in the week and going on to register a 14-11-DNF scorecard in 250 Pro Sport, as well as 10-14-DNS results in Open Pro Sport.

KTM Orange Brigade’s Jeremy Fappani proved to be the class of the highly-competitive 250 B Limited field on his KTM 250 SX-F, racing to the championship via 2-1-3 moto scores. Following up that success, Fappani charged to 1-8-1 results in the 450 B Limited Class, which was enough to earn second overall.

Another KTM Orange Brigade rider was crowned in Wyatt Thurman, picking up the 85 (10-12) championship onboard his KTM 85 SX, as well as finishing runner-up in the 85 (10-12) Limited division. That title was collected by KTM-mounted Nolan Ford, topping a KTM sweep from Thurman and Wyatt Duff.

Of the additional KTMs that landed championships at Loretta's this year, Nico Verhoeven led home Martin Ospina and KTM Orange Brigade's Anderson Waldele in a podium sweep of the 65cc (7-9) Class, with Waldele also third in the 65cc (7-9) Limited ranks overall.

The 65cc (10-11) Class saw another all-orange podium, as a perfect Easton Graves won with 1-1-1 results from Jackson Vick and Chase Brennan, with Vick winning the Limited overall from Graves and Dylan Graham in P2 and P3, marking yet more KTM dominance.

Colby Lessar added to the tally of KTM victories this week with P1 in the Mini Sr 1 (12-14) Class, as Kevyn De Pinho trailed him home for second. De Pinho secured another second-place result in the Mini Sr 2 (13-15) category by virtue of winning moto three.

KTM Orange Brigade talent Seth Dennis raced both the Supermini 1 and 2 classes, recording an inspiring third place overall in the Supermini 1 category – including the opening moto win of the week – and a consistent fourth position in Supermini 2.

KTM racer Klark Robbins achieved significant success on his 125 SX, capturing the 125 Jr. (12-17) B/C Class with a 2-1-6 results sheet, while 7-1-2 finishes were enough to seal the victory in the Schoolboy 1 (12-17) B/C category. Makai Olerich added to the 125cc success by racing to the 125 C Class crown.

A special mention goes to KTM Orange Brigade racers, including Talon Hinson, who finished P8 and P9 in the Micro 3 (7-8) Limited and 65 (7-9) Limited categories, respectively. Beckham Smith finished in P13 and P7 in the same classes, plus Sawyer Gieck secured P5 and P11 overall in the 85 (10-12) and 85 (10-12) Limited ranks.

In total, inclusive of titles won by Jeff Emig (Senior 40+/Masters 50+) and Ronnie Renner (Senior 45+), KTM-equipped riders captured 13 national championships and over 40 race wins throughout the duration of the 2023 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship.

Also announced in the lead-up to the event, the top 15 finishers from the Micro-E Class at Loretta Lynn MX have earned their way into the KTM Jr. SMX Championship, which will be held for the first time at the inaugural SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) final at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, September 23.
