Round 4 - AMA National Enduro Championship
GREENSBORO, Ga. – FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Josh Toth earned his first victory of the 2021 AMA National Enduro Series on Sunday with a stellar performance at the Cherokee National in Greensboro, Georgia. Trail Jesters KTM Racing Team’s Jesse Ansley followed it up with a fourth-consecutive win in the NE Pro2 class, giving KTM a strong performance at Round 4.

Rainfall leading up to Sunday made for good course conditions and close racing throughout the day, delivering seven special tests – instead of the typical six – due to a unique land situation at the Cherokee. With a shorter test to kick off the day it was Toth who came out the strongest, winning the first test by about 13 seconds and opening up a nice cushion right away. He maintained a fast pace for the remainder of the race, finishing 3-2-3-2-2 heading into the final test. With a hard-charging pair of Baylor brothers hot on his trail, Toth hit all his marks in the seventh test to best the runner-up finisher of Steward Baylor Jr. by almost 20 seconds.

Josh Toth: “I rode pretty smart in the beginning because it was a short test, so I knew any mistake was going to be hard to make up. The Baylors were on the hunt for me all day and I did my best to fight them off. Going into the last test, I knew it was going to be a tight one and that they would be strong in it so I put my head down and charged and I was able to lay down a heater and hold Stu off for the win.”

Coming off a third-place finish at the previous round, Ben Kelley raced just outside the podium battle all day with super close racing taking place across the top-five. Finishing fourth in the first six tests, Kelley maintained a comfortable fourth-place heading into the final test. However, he ran into a series of issues late in the day including getting stuck in a deep rut, which cost him substantial time in the 20-minute test. After finally getting the bike dislodged, Toth worked hard to maintain his fourth-place spot but he ultimately finished fifth overall on the day.

Ben Kelley: “It was a pretty solid day overall, despite what the results show. I was kind of in that fourth-place position all day. I felt like I was riding pretty good, just a little bit off the top-three, and I just struggled with that super tight trail at the end. I had a little mistake and then had a crash in the last test and Trevor [Bollinger] ended up sneaking by me, so I ended up fifth. Overall, I’m happy with my ride.”

Trail Jesters KTM Racing Team’s Jesse Ansley maintained his perfect streak in the NE Pro2 class with win number four of the season. Additionally, KTM-Supported rider Mackenzie Tricker finished second in the Women’s Elite class with a great ride in Georgia.
