FMF KTM Factory Racing's Johnny Girroir took victory in the 2024 Sprint Enduro World Championship event contested across an action-packed three days of competition between July 13-15 at Harleywood Farm in Bristol, Virginia, while preparing for the upcoming International Six Days Enduro (ISDE).
An important part of the United States team's ISDE training camp, the Sprint Enduro World Championship consisted of 24 tests – split between a series of Cross Tests and Enduro Tests – that will set the tone for when the U.S. ISDE Team travels to Galicia, Spain, this October.

Girroir managed to win the overall and Pro 1 Class aboard his KTM 350 XC-F at the conclusion of the event on Monday in a total time of 2:49:00.890, taking a lot from the weekend that he will be able to apply to the ISDE this year.

Johnny Girroir: "I didn’t make many mistakes on Saturday and rode smoothly. A couple of tests, they were getting a little beat up and little fresh silt dust berms started developing, but, yeah, it was a good weekend and these tires are working pretty well in this dry, dusty stuff, so I’m looking forward to the Six Days. This was a great opportunity to get back to the ISDE format. I made a couple of mistakes on Monday, but it got really loose and dusty out there. I was feeling good out in the field, laying it down out there, so it was a good weekend."

FMF KTM Factory Racing teammate Dante Oliveira, who is also part of the U.S. World Trophy Team once again after a standout performance in the 2023 edition, used the weekend for training purposes, reacclimating himself with the ISDE format. His result was affected by a test DNF on Monday, but it was a valuable three days on his KTM 350 XC-F in Six Days trim.

Dante Oliveira: "I gave a pretty lousy effort on day one, which is kind of disappointing because I always struggle on the first day, so I would have liked to applied myself a little better in the beginning, but we made improvements across the rest of the weekend. I was struggling a little bit on the Cross Test, which I normally succeed pretty well on, but it's been good, the bike is awesome, the team’s putting in the work, and we know what we need to work on – we're having a good time with it."

The Sprint Enduro World Championship saw Mateo Oliveira finish P5 overall and fourth in the Pro 1 Class also riding the KTM 350 XC-F, taking the time to adapt to the east coast terrain, while ensuring he is up to speed on the ISDE race structure. He's again been selected for the U.S. Junior Trophy Team in 2024.

Mateo Oliveira: "Each time we come to the east coast for the camp there’s a little bit of a learning curve just adapting to the terrain, but I'm having a good time. I’m riding well and just getting in the swing of the ISDE format, being around the whole team, and the staff."

FMF KTM Factory Racing Team Landers rider Grant Davis has been in exceptional form during 2024 onboard his KTM 250 XC-F, picking up a second-place result in the Pro 2 Class this weekend. That effort placed him seventh overall, making improvements in the Cross Test as the event progressed.

Grant Davis: "I think things were going well, except in the Cross Test. In the beginning I was kind of cutting inside too much when I should have been riding outside and then cutting in at the apex of the corners to straighten out on the straightaways a little bit, but other than that it was good."

After delivering a commanding performance at the ISDE last year with the Women’s World Trophy Team, FMF KTM Factory Racing Team Landers' Brandy Richards topped the Pro Women classification at the Sprint Enduro World Championship. She took a lot from the weekend, making the most of the Cross Test and Enduro Test conditions on her KTM 250 XC-F.

Brandy Richards: "The Cross Test and the Enduro Test were super grippy at first. Some spots were a little slick with the loose grass, but with the Six Days tires it didn't seem like much of a difference. In the first Enduro Test on Sunday I got lost and dropped a minute there, so after that, I was just kind of being consistent in making up time. The Enduro Test is like a perfect Six Days test because it's really silty, but it's not super tight or slow – it's a good mix of everything. Same with the Cross Test, with all the off-cambers and some high-speed stuff."
