Day 4 of the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE)
LOMBARDY-PIEDMONT, Italy – KTM riders Brandy Richards, Taylor Robert and Dante Oliveira led the American charge once again on day four of the 2021 FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) as they continue to establish themselves up front in the individual classifications. The U.S. Women’s World Trophy Team sits atop the nation’s efforts as they carry an 11-and-a-half-minute lead into Friday’s final day of enduro tests before closing out the week with motocross.

WOMEN’S WORLD TROPHY TEAM
Richards, who has consistently dominated all week, had another impressive day as she raced her KTM 350 XC-F to a one-minute and 53-second lead over Great Britain’s Jane Daniels in the day’s individual classification. American teammate Rachel Gutish (Husqvarna) had another great performance for herself and the team, finishing fourth outright in the Women’s division and contributing towards the team’s vast lead after four days.

Brandy Richards: “I started out super strong in the first two tests, and in the third enduro test I had a pretty good get-off but still managed a good time. After that, I was a little sore but I just kind of kept moving forward and stayed consistent. I had a great time in the last few tests, they were super fun!”

WORLD TROPHY TEAM (WT)
Taylor Robert and the World Trophy Team continue to fight for a podium position in third, sitting just two minutes behind Team Spain for the second-place spot. Individually, Robert just missed a top-five finish for the day following an intense battle with Italy’s Davide Guarneri that came down to just a few seconds by the end of racing. Layne Michael (Yamaha) has remained consistent throughout the week, finishing inside the top-10 outright with ninth on the day, while former ISDE Overall winner Ryan Sipes (GASGAS) re-entered the radar with an 11th place score on day four.

Taylor Robert: “Overall, I really enjoyed today. I felt good and had really consistent times all day. We had three new tests and a bunch of transfers way up in the mountains and it was just really cool riding. A lot smoother trail, so it wasn’t beating me to death all day. I had a really close battle with Guarneri for fifth but he ended up getting me in the last test, so I’ll try and get him back tomorrow. We’ve got one more full-on enduro day tomorrow and then the moto, so I’m just going to try to stay consistent and fast to the end of the week.”

JUNIOR WORLD TROPHY TEAM (JWT)
Despite a tough day for the Junior World Trophy Team, KTM’s Dante Oliveira delivered another strong performance as the top JWT American, finishing third in the category aboard his KTM 450 XC-F. With consistency and poise thus far, the California native has established himself as a front-runner in the JWT division. It was another solid day for Cody Barnes (Honda), who produced another consistent score for the team but an unfortunate crash from Austin Walton (Husqvarna) dropped the team’s overall score for the day and revoked their chances at a team medal as Walton has officially dropped out of the race with a broken scapula.

Dante Oliveira: “The day started off pretty good for me, I rode strong and felt good right away. I choked big time in test three and rode pretty bad out there and fell behind a little bit but I was able to pick it up for the last two tests of the day. All-in-all it was a good day, I didn’t fall so I’m stoked with that and we’re getting a little closer to the end of this thing.”

Racing from the 2021 International Six Days Enduro will resume on Friday, September 3 with day five of six from Lombardy-Piedmont, Italy.
