Round 4 - AMA EnduroCross Series - October 30, 2020
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart continues to make his presence known in the 2020 AMA EnduroCross Championship battle, where he sits second overall in the championship standings following another impressive performance at Round 4 of the six-race series on Friday. Earning his third race-win of the season tonight at Glen Helen Raceway, the young up-and-comer is successfully piecing things together in his first full-season as a factory rider claiming solid 1-3-3 finishes for third overall on the night.
Coming off his first-career overall victory at the previous round on Thursday, Hart came into Friday’s racing with great momentum where he scored the fastest hot lap once again to command the top gate pick in race one. With that, he captured the race one holeshot aboard his KTM 350 EXC-F and he led the opening laps over a hard-charging group of riders behind. He was contested about four laps in but it didn’t last too long as Hart charged his way back into the lead with two laps to go and he rode a solid pace through the checkers to finish a whopping six seconds ahead of the second-place rider.
In race two, Hart struggled with the reverse start as he came into the rock section mid-pack on the opening lap and got stuck in a bottleneck, placing him near the back of the pack. Hart fought his way through the pack early on to reach podium contention by lap three but it was too late to make any moves up front and he ultimately settled for third.
In the third and final race of the night, it was Hart who once again claimed the holeshot and early lead through the opening rock section but he experienced a big crash over the bars in the log-double coming out of the next corner, which set him back to outside the top-10 on lap one. He once again put his head down and clawed through the pack to ultimately finish third in the final moto and third overall for the night. With two rounds remaining, Hart continues to sit in second overall within striking distance of his first-career 2020 AMA EnduroCross Championship.
Trystan Hart: “The night started off so good with a win in the first moto and going into the last moto we were all tied in points. I really wanted the holeshot so I could control the race and I achieved that, but then I made a mistake that resulted in a crash and eventually finished third overall. I’m looking forward to giving my best effort at these last two rounds and hopefully we can keep fighting for the championship.”
FMF/RPM/KTM Racing Team Maxxis’ Cooper Abbott put forth another solid performance at Glen Helen, where he came away with fourth overall behind an all-star podium of factory riders. With 4-4-6 finishes, Abbott continues to showcase great speed and consistency in stacked field of competition this season.
KTM-supported rider, Shelby Turner, extended her win-streak to four-in-a-row with another dominant performance in the Women’s Class. She also fought her way to a top- five finish in the Amateur division.
Round 5 of the 2020 AMA EnduroCross Series will take place on Friday, November 6 at Glen Helen Raceway. For more information on the series and full results, visit
