LAKE HAVASU, Ariz. – The final round of the AMA National Grand Prix Championship (NPGC) has concluded in Lake Havasu, with 2023 Pro Class Champion Dante Oliveira capturing his sixth victory of the season, joined on the podium by FMF KTM Factory Racing teammate Mateo Oliveira after he led his share of laps in the race.
The Arizona race didn’t come easy for defending champion Oliveira, circulating the opening lap in the 10th position after a start that saw him at the rear of the field. A gradual charge from behind saw Dante take the lead by lap 11, stretching out to a 25-second advantage by race's end to claim a commanding win.

Dante Oliveira: “I got off to a bit of a slow start here in Arizona, which made for a difficult race coming from the back. I charged behind Mateo for a while as we came up through the field together – I had a couple of small crashes in the process, but overall, I was able to close out this year’s season with a win here at Lake Havasu. A big thank you to the team for a massive effort this year, we accomplished our goals and keep the number one plate heading into 2024.”

Meanwhile, the younger of the Oliveira brothers, Mateo, also began his race from the rear of the pack, linking up with Dante as they sliced through the field together. After leading through the middle stages, third place onboard his KTM 450 XC-F is a welcomed result and will add to his confidence entering next season. Following a haul of consistent results to end his 2023 campaign, Mateo secured sixth place overall in his debut season of Pro Class competition.

Mateo Oliveira: “It’s been too long since I’ve stood on the podium! Third place is a good result after having to come through the field today, as Dante and I had pretty much last-place starts, which wasn’t ideal. I took the lead on lap six, then went back to third for the last four laps, which landed me on the podium. To be on the podium with the FMF KTM Factory Racing team alongside my brother is really special and a great way to finish this season.”

KTM-mounted Mikayla Nielsen clinched in a nail-biting final round of Pro Women’s Class action in Lake Havasu, with her P2 result behind defending three-time champion Brandy Richards enough to capture this year’s championship with three points to spare.
