Day 5 of the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE)
LOMBARDY-PIEDMONT, Italy – With five days of enduro and cross-tests complete, the 2021 FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) is all but written as the week is set to culminate with one final motocross race on Saturday morning.

Friday’s racing began with a welcomed cancellation of the opening special test due to extreme dust and low visibility but that didn’t shake KTM’s Dante Oliveira, who had an outstanding performance as the top JWT rider and fifth outright, finishing just behind World Trophy teammate, Taylor Robert, in fourth. With back-to-back Women’s World Trophy titles and a first-time individual gold medal in sight, KTM-Supported rider Brandy Richards focused on consistency as she again topped the WWT classification on day five, giving the U.S. team a nearly 14-minute lead heading into the final day of racing.

WORLD TROPHY TEAM (WT)
Holding the U.S. World Trophy Team together in a comfortable third overall, Taylor Robert had another great day hovering around the top-five and once again finishing as the top American with fourth outright aboard the KTM 450 XC-F. Teammate Johnny Girroir (GASGAS) had a solid 15th place finish on day five and Ryan Sipes (GASGAS) contributed another good score toward the team’s standing where the former motocross star looks to end the week on a high note.

Taylor Robert: “They cancelled the first special test due to no wind and extreme dust, which I was okay with because yesterday they had the same section and there were a couple times that you were just completely blind and it’s pretty nerve racking. I just rode really consistent all day and it felt good to end the week on a positive note and feeling strong. I’m really excited to get through these five days healthy and then just have some fun in the motocross race tomorrow.”

JUNIOR WORLD TROPHY TEAM (JWT)
Dante Oliveira has continued to improve and only get stronger throughout the week, putting forth his best performance yet on the fifth day. Finishing only 15-seconds behind his FMF KTM Factory Racing teammate in the day’s overall, the young west coast rider continues to showcase his speed and skills aboard the KTM 450 XC-F. ISDE rookie Cody Barnes (Honda) secured a top-20 finish in the overall standings with another great ride for the JWT team. With an unfortunate crash from Austin Walton (Husqvarna) on day four, the U.S. Junior Trophy Team is out of the running as Walton remains sidelined with a broken scapula.

Dante Oliveira: “I was able to stay off the ground again today and get through five days of racing clean. I was able to charge a lot harder today because I kind of knew the courses a little more and I was able to start pushing more and sliding the bike. I feel like I have been getting more comfortable as the week goes on and the confidence was a lot higher going into today so I couldn’t be more stoked with how it’s going and to be able to get a fifth overall today. I’m excited to go hammer down the moto test tomorrow.”

WOMEN’S WORLD TROPHY TEAM
Brandy Richards further extended her individual lead on day five, while also boosting her team to a nearly 14-minute lead in the U.S. Women’s World Trophy Team category. Richards has managed to keep her KTM 350 XC-F out front all week long and she looks to put an undefeated stamp on the week with a final victory in the motocross race.

Brandy Richards: “I just kind of stayed consistent throughout the day. In enduro test three, I took it a little easy to make sure I didn’t fall again, so that was pretty good. I had a lot of fun, especially cross-test four because it’s super high speed, and just had a great day all-around.”

The final day of racing from the 2021 International Six Days Enduro will take place on Saturday, September 4 in Lombardy-Piedmont, Italy.
