Day 6 of the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE)
LOMBARDY-PIEDMONT, Italy – KTM’s Brandy Richards and the U.S. Women’s World Trophy Team have successfully secured back-to-back titles at the 95th running of the FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Lombardy-Piedmont, Italy. Richards, racing aboard the KTM 350 XC-F, swept all 20 tests of the week to come away with a perfect score and the outright victory in the Women’s World Trophy division.
With the final day of racing coming down to one last motocross race on Saturday, both Richards and JWT teammate Dante Oliveira showcased their skills on the dirt with moto-wins to wrap out the week. Taylor Robert had a tough run in the final section individually but he led a solid podium charge for the U.S. World Trophy Team in third.
WOMEN’S WORLD TROPHY TEAM
Brandy Richards was the stand-out rider of the week on the American roster as she managed to win every test in the Women’s Trophy division. Thanks in large part to a strong performance by Richards right away, the U.S. team maintained a sizeable lead for the duration of the week. Richards herself has now been a part of two back-to-back winning teams but the overall win is a career-first for the Arizona native.
Brandy Richards: “It was a great race. I’m pretty stoked that we won as a team and wining my first individual with perfect scores was pretty sweet. The whole week overall was honestly just like a dream and I couldn’t have asked for a better six days. I had a great time here in Italy and can’t wait for the next one!”
WORLD TROPHY TEAM (WT)
FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Taylor Robert, a proud member of the winning team in 2019, came into the week with high hopes of a title defense in 2021. The U.S. squad put forth a great effort altogether, fighting inside the top-three all week to come away with third overall in the World Trophy division. Robert, who finished as the top American in five of the six days aboard his KTM 450 XC-F, came away with second-overall in the E2 class, finishing just behind Spain’s Josep Garcia (KTM) in the class. The former ISDE individual overall winner also claimed fifth outright after the week’s racing.
Taylor Robert: “All-in-all, I ended up fifth overall in the scratch results, second in E2 and the team ended up third, so I mean not a terrible week but not exactly where I wanted to be. I’m excited to be leaving healthy and have more experience for the team.”
JUNIOR WORLD TROPHY TEAM (JWT)
Dante Oliveira had his best performance of the week on day six, as he topped the final E1 motocross race aboard the KTM 450 XC-F.Also charging his way up to 10th in the overall standings, Oliveira placed third in the Junior World Trophy division with a strong ride in Italy.
Dante Oliveira: “I’m pumped on a 10th overall and third in the Junior division. I started off slow in the first couple days but was able to finish strong with the moto win.”
To top a successful event for the brand, KTM Factory Racing team riders Josep Garcia (ESP), Taylor Robert and Dante Oliveira merged together to win the Manufacturer’s Team Award with a five-minute gap over the TM Boano Factory Team.
