After making an impressive debut with the team in Agueda on the KTM SX-F250, Alexander Brown was keen to put in another solid performance to break further into the points. A heavy downpour had left the track slippery and rutted on Saturday morning and unfortunately Brown crashed in free practice, injuring his shoulder. Brown is now undergoing a full medical assessment to determine the extent of the injury.

Bas Vaessen on the other hand had a positive weekend on his Hitachi KTM Fuelled by Milwaukee machine in France, taking a solid eighth overall. A crash in the first race was an early setback for the dutchman, but after collecting himself and finding his flow on the natural hill-side track, Vaessen pulled through the pack to retrieve a 15th place finish. In the second race, Vaessen started fifth but lacked intensity in the first few laps costing him a few positions. It was still enough to finish seventh overall and Vaeseen now lies 10th in the MX2 World Championship.

The team now take a break from MXGP and return to the UK to compete at Blaxhall next weekend for round four of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship.

Bas Vaessen:
“The weekend started off okay for me, Saturday taking my time to get used to the track and adapting the bike. On Sunday I immediately felt better after some changes on the bike from the team and WP Suspension. In the first moto I had a bad start and crashed on the first lap. I had to come back from 30th position, put my head down and finished in 15th.  In the second moto I had a good start in fifth position but was a little too timid on the first lap and lost some positions. I still finished seventh for eighth position overall. I finished the weekend off positively and now stand 10th overall in the overall World Championship.”

Roger Magee:
“It was a bitter sweet weekend for the team as we lost our new recruit Alexander Brown early on Saturday after he crashed causing a shoulder injury which meant he was unable to compete for the rest of the weekend. He will be assessed to see if an operation is necessary and we wish him a speedy recovery. Bas Vaessen continues to improve week-by-week. Despite a small crash early in the first moto, he showed good speed to elevate himself from 30th position to 15th position by the end of the race. In the second moto, we saw him start well in fifth position, but he lacked a bit of intensity in the early few laps and lost a few places. Once he found his rhythm again he got back up to seventh with a very strong and patient ride against all of the top contenders.”
