Austrian brand hosts successful Ride To Work Day for Silverstone Park

As part of Ride To Work Week (June 20-26, 2016), KTM Sportmotorcycles UK Ltd. hosted an event to support the annual incentive that encourages existing riders to help educate others about the benefits of motorcycling as a cost and time effective way to commute.

The Ready To Race Austrian brand laid on free lunch and refreshments on Tuesday June 21 at its new Silverstone Park offices in Northamptonshire to companies and workers based in and around the modern complex, as well as personnel from the historic circuit itself. KTM staff were on hand to welcome those who came to the event in order to talk about motorcycling in general, how to get on two wheels and also explain its diverse product range.

At KTM’s request, the Get On campaign were also in attendance to give those interested in riding the chance to make the first steps on to two wheels. A 20 metre square area was cordoned off in the car park and demand for sample rides on the 125 DUKE and RC 125 during the 2.5 hour event exceeded all expectations.

KTM UK General Manager, Matt Walker, said: “As one of the leading motorcycle manufacturers, we see it as our duty to be proactive and really get behind a campaign such as Ride To Work Week to encourage more people to discover the benefits of motorcycling. Our event was a big success with many people having a go at riding a motorcycle for the first time and further proof that bikes can bring groups of people together.”

The annual ‘Ride to Work Week’ campaign from the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) works to promote the use of motorcycles as a financial and time cost-effective way of getting to work. Not only do bikes reduce congestion, they’re also take up a lot less room in car parks! Discover more at www.ridetoworkweek.co.uk
