GOODERHAM, ON – FMF KTM Factory Team rider and Canadian Trystan Hart brought the Promation Corduroy Enduro title back to Canadian grounds for 2021 following a convincing victory at the 67th running of Canada’s “toughest race.” With a two-day format of enduro-style racing, the Corduroy held true to its name with plenty of challenging terrain in the slick, Ontario forests.
Hart came up just short of the Cord win in 2019 and the international hard enduro front-runner was determined to take the crown this time around. He came out swinging on day one aboard his KTM 300 XC-W TPI, claiming three of the six test-wins to establish himself out front after the first day of racing. On Sunday, Hart picked up four of the seven test-wins and he finished with a strong second in the final MX test, which gave him a solid cushion of nearly 10-minutes over the second-place rider at the end of racing.
Trystan Hart, FMF KTM Factory Team Rider: “After losing to an American racer in 2019, I really wanted to bring the Corduroy win back to Canada. It was two long days of racing but it feels good to be the Canadian Champion! It didn’t come without its challenges, I got stuck multiple times in the deep mud pits, along with everything else that the Ontario forests threw at me but all-in-all, it was a very good weekend!”
Next up for Hart is Round 2 of the AMA EnduroCross Championship this Saturday, October 2, where he will continue to battle for his first title in the premier class.
Shelby Turner claimed her second-straight Corduroy victory with an impressive performance in the Women’s Pro division. Turner won every test of the weekend in her class, ultimately securing victory by over 15 minutes in total.
