KTM Junior Racing Team’s Jett Burgess-Stevens and Jet Alsop put in impressive performances at the 2021 King of Capricorn in Rockhampton, Queensland, on a weekend that saw a mix of strong results from orange racers.
Burgess-Stevens raced hard and secured third overall in the Prince of Capricorn category, while fellow KTM Junior Racing Team rider Alsop finished third in the Junior Lites 125cc division.

The event saw Burgess-Stevens start in fine-form riding his 250 SX-F, swiftly qualifying for the top 25 cut-off after the first four races with a win and three second places.

His final three sprint elimination races again saw Burgess-Stevens easily make each respective elimination cut-off, finishing seventh, fifth and third to round out the overall podium on 141 points.

Alsop made his presence felt at the annual event, winning race three onboard his 125 SX in the Junior Lites class. That effort, combined second in race one, a fifth in race two and sixth in race four saw him finish a comfortable P3 overall.

Alsop also competed in the Prince of Capricorn class, finishing fifth overall at the conclusion of the seven races on 110 points to cap-off his weekend.

A host of other KTM-mounted riders competed at the event, with Lochlan Grant and Lachlan Allen making it a 1-2 in the Mini Lites (12-U16 Yrs) class – Grant notably dominating the category winning each of the four races.

Grant also won the 65cc (10-U12 Yrs) class, where he was joined on the podium by fellow 65 SX rider Kyle Harvey, who finished third overall for the outing.

Nate Perret dominated the 65cc (7-U10 Yrs) category, winning each of the four races to score a perfect 100 points and overall victory, while Chace Wilkinson also won four from four on his way to a commanding first overall in the 50cc DIV 2 (7-U9 Yrs) class.

Adding to KTM’s success was Jasmine Stagg, charging hard to finish third overall in the Senior Women ranks, as well as Koby Tate, who claimed third position in the Mini Lites (12-U16 Yrs) category.
