Casterton delivered another successful weekend of racing for the KTM DM31 Racing Team, claiming multiple class victories and outright podium finishes – including a breakout Pro Enduro victory for Korey McMahon – across Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2026 Australian Enduro Championship in Victoria.
Korey McMahon continued his strong season aboard the KTM 500 EXC-F, standing on the Pro Enduro podium on both days while once again proving the benchmark in the E3 category. McMahon claimed victory in E3 during Saturday's three-hour Cross Country and finished P2 outright, before backing it up on Sunday with another E3 win and his first outright Pro Enduro victory of the season.

Korey McMahon: “Saturday was solid. It was our first three-hour Cross Country and I got off to an awesome start. I battled with Wil [Ruprecht] all day and ended up P2 outright – Wil was riding awesome, so it was a really good day for us. Sunday here at Casterton was awesome as well. I rode unreal all day and was really happy with my riding. I made a couple of little mistakes throughout the day, but managed to clean them up straight away, which is something I've struggled with in the past. To come away with my first outright win of the year was really cool and it gives us a bit of momentum rolling into Hattah, which I'm looking forward to.”

Making his debut with KTM DM31 Racing Team was returning Australian Lyndon Snodgrass, who joined the action after six years competing in the United States. Racing the KTM 450 SX-F in the E2 category, Snodgrass immediately made his presence felt with P2 in class and P3 outright during Saturday's Cross Country. He continued that momentum on Sunday, taking victory in E2 and finishing P2 outright to complete a highly impressive first weekend with the team, and the Hattah Desert Race is next on his schedule.

Lyndon Snodgrass: “Casterton was definitely a bit of a shock to the system for me. I've been doing a little more desert-style riding this year, so coming here and dealing with all the bumps and ruts was a good kick in the butt and a bit of a wake-up call ahead of Hattah. Saturday was solid, and it felt good to be back racing in Australia with the team. Sunday was tough as well. The track was pretty choppy for the Sprints, and it was hard to find a flow early on. With the ferns, you couldn't see around the turns a whole lot, so it took me a little bit to adjust, but I just kept chipping away throughout the day, then managed to put down a heater in the final test. Wil made a mistake and I was able to put together a clean run, which moved me up to P2 outright and first in E2.”

It was a more challenging weekend for Jye Dickson, who entered Casterton looking to continue his front-running form in E2 and Pro Enduro. Unfortunately, the New South Welshman was ruled out of Saturday's Cross Country after an incident on lap two saw him withdraw with pain in his knee. While the setback halted his weekend momentum early on, Dickson bounced back on Sunday’s Sprints to a gritty P4 in class.

Jye Dickson: “It was a tough day for me on Saturday and unfortunately ended in a DNF. About two laps in, I put my knee down the wrong way and heard a bit of a pop, which didn't feel too nice. I cruised around for a few laps after that, but it wasn't worth finishing the race, so it was a matter of resting it up and seeing how it felt for the next day. Sunday was another tough day, but I wanted to come back and try to get a few decent laps in. I started a little bit slow in the morning, but we finished pretty strong with a few third-place outright test times. All in all, it wasn't a bad day and it was good to get back out there.”

KTM DM31 Racing Team young gun Jackson Versteegen continued his development in the E1 category aboard the KTM 250 SX-F, recording a solid weekend in challenging conditions. The young Western Australian charged hard to secure P6 in class during Saturday's three-hour Cross Country before taking a season-best P4 in Sunday's Sprints.

Jackson Versteegen: “Saturday was definitely challenging. The track was super rough and I went through a few sets of goggles with the rain, dirt and everything getting thrown at us. It was really a matter of regrouping, ticking off the laps and getting through it, but overall it was a good ride. Sunday was a fun day in the sand with the sprint format. The track was pretty challenging with a few mud holes out there, but the team had the bike perfect all day. It was a good way to finish off the weekend and we can take plenty from it heading into the next round.”

With another successful weekend in the books, KTM DM31 Racing Team now turns its attention to the 2026 Hattah Desert Race on July 3-5, before the Australian Enduro Championship resumes at Kempsey, New South Wales, on August 8-9.
