Chambly, QC – It was an extremely hot day of racing at Sand Del Lee for RD5 of the Triple Crown Series. All three KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team members dug deep and finished strong in the tough conditions.

In the MX2 class, Jess Pettis and Tanner Ward both had consistent starts; getting out front early was key in the hot conditions. Pettis got out front early and led most of Moto 2 before getting passed by Dylan Wright. Ward clenched a holeshot in Moto 2 and also stayed on pace with the top riders for most of the race. Unfortunately the heat got to him at around the half-way mark and he dropped a few positions. Pettis finished 3-2 for 2nd overall while Ward finished 4-7 for 5th overall. It takes incredible strength to race at this level in 40+ degree heat, hats off to all of the riders who competed on Saturday.

Jess Pettis - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team 250 Rider: "RD5 at Sand Del Lee was a hot and humid one. I was happy with how the day went. I was able to have two consistent motos with 3-2 moto scores for 2nd overall. The team and I have continued to make progress and I am ready to battle for wins and fight for this championship."

Tanner Ward - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team 250 Rider: "It was a pretty good weekend for me at Sand Del Lee. I was happy with my consistent starts and holeshot in Moto 2. It felt great to keep on pace for most of the Moto after my holeshot. The heat got to me near the end and unfortunately I lost a few positions. I am taking away the positives from this weekend as we go into RD6 in Moncton this weekend."

In the MX1 class, Cole Thompson remained positive despite some set backs. In Moto 1 he had a first turn crash and charged from last to 7th place. In Moto 2 he got the holeshot and lead for five laps until he lost energy and had to step back in order to finish the race. Thompson has been suffering from a back injury and has had to take a break from training and riding between rounds. He is excited to get back to 100% in order to finish the season strong.

In the WMX class, Orange Bleeder Eve Brodeur had some bad luck. In Moto 1 Brodeur was caught in a crash 20 feet from the start gate. She worked her way from last to 4th place. She went down again in Moto 2 and worked her way from last to 8th place for 6th overall. Despite going down in both motos, Eve remained positive and showed great sportsmanship on and off the track. We look forward to watching her get back on the podium in Moncton.

On behalf of everyone here at KTM Canada, we want to extend a big congratulations to all KTM riders mentioned for their impressive performances in these challenging conditions.
