KTM RED BULL THOR FACTORY RACE TEAM MEMBERS THOMPSON, WARD AND PETTIS WITH IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCES AT RD2 OF THE TRIPLE CROWN MX SERIES IN PRINCE GEORGE, BC
Chambly, QC – It was a beautiful day for racing in Prince George on Saturday. The day started on a great note with 2 out of 3 KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Racers clocking the fastest lap times in qualifications. All three team members worked hard despite some bad luck. We are proud of their determination and READY TO RACE attitudes.
In the 450 class, Cole Thompson lead the first half of Moto 1 before a rock derailed his chain. Luckily, he was calm and patient and was able to get the chain back on. Unfortunately this set back bumped him to 27th place. Once back on the track he pushed hard and was able to fight his way to 11th place. In Moto 2 he remained consistent and finished 3rd. Cole looks forward to a smoother weekend at the next round in Manitoba.
KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Racing Team Members Jess Pettis and Tanner Ward had successful performances in the 250 class. For the second weekend in a row, Pettis was your holeshot winner. He traded positions a few times throughout the Moto with the #19 Dylan Wright but was able to take back the lead near the end of the Moto and hold it until the checkered flag. Pettis clenched his first win of the season in front of his hometown crowd.
MX2 racer Tanner Ward also had an unfortunate run-in with a rock. In Moto 2 he was inside the top 10 when a rock got caught in his shifter and cracked the engine casing. Ward maintained a positive attitude and despite his bad luck was able to finish 9th overall.
Jess Pettis - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team 250 Rider: "My hometown race in Prince George was a step in the right direction. I was able to get two good starts and take the win in Moto 1. I was also in position to take 1st overall in Moto 2 before a small tip over. I ended up 3rd overall for the day which was great progress for myself and the team considering our cicumstances with my injury."
Tanner Ward - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team 250 Rider: "Not the best weekend for me, I really didn't feel like myself in Moto 1 and struggled to find flow. Moto 2 was going better, but some unfortunate luck put me all the way back to 32nd on lap 5. I am happy with how I rode and I'm going to take the positives from this weekend and head into RD3 strong."
Jean-Sebastien Roy – KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Racing Team Manager: "This weekend in Prince George was full of ups and downs. Pettis was able to secure his first Moto win of the season, while the other two team members had unfortunate strokes of luck and run-ins with rocks. I am impressed by the composure these boys kept despite their set backs. We look forward to coming back fresh and READY TO RACE next Saturday in Manitoba."
In the WMX class, KTM swept the podium for the second weekend in a row. Avrie Berry from Washougal, WA went 2-1 for 1st overall. She was followed closely by Canadian Orange Bleeders Eve Brodeur and Shelby Turner who finished in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The MX series will continue next weekend in Manitoba for round 3 of the 8 round series.
