Chambly, QC – It was a successful night in Quebec City for the KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team. As the season comes to an end, it is exciting to see KTM riders on top of the podium. 450 rider Cole Thompson had an exceptional night with 1-1 finishes for 1st overall. Thompson has been struggling with some injuries throughout the second half of his season. The team was happy to see Cole dig deep despite his injuries and finish on top of the podium.

Thompson is not the only KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team rider who has suffered injuries in the second half of the season. 250 rider Jess Pettis also suffered a crash in Montreal that has him sidelined for the remainder of the season. In his absence, the team has called on Dakota Alix, KTM USA supported rider from Vermont. It did not take Alix long to feel comfortable on the bike. Each time he went out on the track he improved. It was no surprise to see the talented rider land on the podium in the 250 main event. We look forward to seeing Dakota continue to improve and get more comfortable on the bike for the last round in Hamilton.

250 rider Tanner Ward had a consistent evening in Quebec City. Ward and Alix demonstrated the READY TO RACE spirit by having a great battle in their heat race. When it came to the main, Ward finished just behind Alix in P-4 in qualifying and P-5 in the main for P-5 overall.

Jean-Sebastien Roy - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Team Manager: “It’s always great to end a race weekend with two of our guys on the podium. Cole's win was spectacular. To replace Jess Pettis we called on Dakota Alix who is very familiar with our team and Canadian races. Alix started the day slowly as he got used to the new bike but quickly picked up the pace and by the end of the night he was riding extremely well. Dakota’s 3rd place finish was great, but I know a win is possible for him at the last round in Hamilton.

Dakota Alix - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Replacement Rider: “It had been a few months since I last raced so I started out the day a little tight. The team was supportive and quickly let me know what I needed to fix in my riding so I was able to make improvements every time I hit the track. The bike felt awesome and I am extremely excited to have landed on the podium in the main event. I am looking forward to the final round in Hamilton in two weeks.

Tanner Ward - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory 250 Rider: “Coming into this weekend I was not sure how I would feel. I suffered a bad crash in Montreal and have not been able to ride since. All things considered, it was an okay weekend for me. I had good starts, but unfortunately lacked the extra edge my competitors had due to the injury. I’m excited to get back riding and end the season off strong in Hamilton”
