Chambly, QC – It was a great day of racing at Riverglade, MX in Moncton, NB for the 6th round of the Triple Crown MX series.
In the 250 class, Jess Pettis and Tanner Ward both had a great day of racing and finished on the podium. The duo finished 2nd and 3rd overall after having some great battles. After a season of recovering from injuries, Pettis is finally feeling close to 100% and was able to battle with points leader Dylan Wright in both Motos. Ward was also staying on pace with the leaders, but unfortunately had a small hiccup in the last lap of Moto 2 and was passed by two riders which put him in 5th position. Despite the small mistake, Ward still had his best finish of the season with a 3rd overall.
Jess Pettis - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team 250 Rider: "RD6 in Moncton, NB was good. My teammate Tanner and I had some good battles in both motos, which was fun considering we are currently training and living together. I was able to have consistent results with 2-2 Moto scores and 2nd overall. Consistent results are good, but I am hoping to keep pushing and get on top before the end of the series."
Tanner Ward - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team 250 Rider: "Moncton was definitely an interesting day for me. I started the day off with a big crash in practice. At one point I questioned if I would even be able to race. In Moto 1 I got a good start and was able to move into the lead for a couple laps before moving back to 3rd. I ran solid laps and finished on the box (podium). In Moto 2 I pulled the holeshot and led for a couple laps. I was able to battle with Jess and fight for those top spots. I ran in 3rd for the rest of the Moto until the last lap where I made a small mistake and fell. Unfortunately I got passed twice and ended up 5th in the Moto and tied for 3rd overall."
In the 450 class, Cole Thompson did not have the results he was hoping for. Since suffering a back injury during practice a few week ago, #16 has fallen short of landing on the podium. He has remained positive and continued to push through this long series. We hope to see Cole back in his usual position on top of the podium before the end of the season!
Cole Thompson - KTM Red Bull Thor Factory Race Team 450 Rider: "I felt more like myself this weekend. My results were not what I wanted. 4-3 Moto scores was the best I could do. Ready to get back in the top spot next weekend."
In the WMX class, Orange Bleeder Eve Brodeur was back in her usual position on top of the podium. Eve did not have the weekend she was hoping for at Sand Del Lee, and was excited to reclaim her position on top this weekend. Eve is currently very close in points with series leader Isabelle Thibault. Next weekend in Dechambault will be the final round of the WMXE series where we will see a Women's East Champion crowned. Best of luck to Eve as we hope to see her finish the series strong.
Eve Brodeur - KTM Orange Bleeder, WMXE Class: "I couldn't have asked for a better round at Riverglade for RD3. The track was awesome and so was the NB crowd. I was able to win both Motos and get both holeshots! With one round left of our champsionship, it is going to be a tight battle coming into Dechambault, but I am ready to give it my all and come out on top."
On behalf of everyone here at KTM Canada, we want to extend a big congratulations to all KTM riders mentioned for their impressive performances as we go into the last two races of the series.
The MX series will continue on August 3rd in Dechambault, Quebec at Dechambault MX.
