KTM Racing Team is ‘Ready To Race’ the 2022 Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) opener this weekend in Melbourne, with Brett Metcalfe and Nathan Crawford to compete on the latest 2023 SX-F machinery.
Metcalfe, 38, delivered a convincing ProMX Championship campaign riding a KTM 450 SX-F within his own GO24 program earlier this year, claiming fourth in the series and earning a moto win in South Australia.

Stepping into the factory team for the AUSX series, Metcalfe was quickly comfortable aboard the 2023 KTM 450 SX-F in the pre-season and is looking forward to racing supercross once more.

As for 25-year-old Crawford, he is one of the country's most promising emerging talents, with the Queenslander showing strong mental fortitude to return from serious injuries and win the final two rounds of MX2 outdoors. He enters the upcoming SX season level-headed, with firm goals in place riding the 2023 KTM 250 SX-F and a methodical mindset to improve throughout the season.

The 2022 Australian Supercross Championship will commence this Friday at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, with both Metcalfe (SX1) and Crawford (SX2) also to compete as wildcards in round two of the World Supercross Championship on Saturday night.

Melbourne will also see the addition of the popular KTM Junior Supercross exhibition, where a group of 18 lucky young riders will be treated to a full factory VIP experience, including riding a race-prepared KTM 50 SX, receiving a KTM gift pack and a full set of riding gear to keep, plus trophies for the podium finishers.

Brett Metcalfe: "I’m excited to get back into supercross, as it’s been a few years in Australia. I think for everybody it’s great and, for myself riding for KTM, I think that’s really cool - it’s where I first made my start 24 years ago as a factory rider in the pro ranks! It's pretty special, really, to be cranking away this many years into my career and it’s kind of a nice relief to finish off this year with good support on a factory team. The 2023 KTM 450 SX-F feels awesome and I’m really liking everything about it, despite my time on the bike and preparing for supercross being somewhat limited so far."

Nathan Crawford: "I’m looking forward to supercross! I’ve had a pretty good pre-season, especially coming off the back of three pretty successful races in ProMX. I carried that momentum into the supercross pre-season and it’s been really, really good so far. I’ve just been trying to take every day as it comes and just trying to focus on every day that’s in front of me, so here we are about to start round one. I’m going into round one with a pretty level head, but I’ve got goals in place and will build from there. With the new 2023 KTM 250 SX-F we have done a lot of development over the last six weeks and we’ve got a really strong package and should be good come round one."
