KTM Racing Team’s Nathan Crawford has consolidated third position in the 2025 Australian ProMX Championship MX1 standings after claiming third overall at Traralgon, Victoria, on Sunday.
It was a solid points day for all team riders in Round 4, with Kirk Gibbs finishing sixth overall in MX1, while MX2 pair Noah Ferguson and Byron Dennis finished third and fourth, respectively.

After recording the fifth-fastest time in qualifying, Crawford and his KTM 450 SX-F powered to a strong start to the opening Moto, rounding the first turn inside the top three. From there, the Queenslander would post a measured ride, claiming fourth place to commence race day.

The number 3 found himself near the front of the field at the start of Moto 2, and after trading places with rivals several times throughout the race, another fourth place earned Crawford third overall for the weekend, and further cemented P3 in the MX1 classification at the halfway mark of the season.

Nathan Crawford: “We're working hard and it's really positive to take another podium result this weekend. It was a consistent day for me, so although we want to be up there and fighting for the win, this is a platform to keep building upon in the second half of the season."

Also equipped with the KTM 450 SX-F, MX1 teammate Gibbs qualified sixth-fastest on the sandy Traralgon surface, before claiming seventh in the first Moto. While fighting inside the top five during Moto 2, a small mistake relegated him back to sixth position, with a 7-6 scorecard earning sixth overall for the round, and he's now P6 in the overall standings.

Kirk Gibbs: “Sixth overall today, but I struggled a bit with the track, and I couldn’t really get comfortable all day. With how technical and rutted it was, I rode within myself. Ultimately, I got through the weekend and will now go home and regroup before Warwick in four weeks.”

In MX2, Ferguson finished his day on the round podium, with the KTM 250 SX-F rider setting himself as an early front-runner by qualifying third. A small error during the opening Moto saw him drop from fourth to outside the top 10, but the Queenslander was able to claw his way to a well-earned P5 result.

Another fifth-position finish in Moto 2 after a hard charge through the field would eventually earn Ferguson third overall for the round, and after four rounds, he also sits third in the MX2 championship.

Noah Ferguson: “I did well in qualifying, but I struggled a bit in Moto 1, and went down when I asked a bit too much out of the track. I recovered to fifth, but in Moto 2, I had a bad start and that made it really hard for myself. I was able to recover well and it was rewarding to later learn I’d finished third, but it’s still frustrating in some ways because I’ve got a lot to give, and I just need to show that more on race day.”

After registering the fourth-fastest qualifying time, teammate Dennis and his KTM 250 SX-F ran near the front of the pack in the opening encounter. Overcoming some early-race adversity, Dennis raced forward and finished the Moto in P3.

The second Moto saw Dennis on track for his best result of his young professional career, working his way up into second place, which is where he would cross the finish line. Unfortunately, a post-race penalty relegated the class newcomer to P5 for the Moto, and fourth overall for the round.

Byron Dennis: “A disappointing outcome in the end, but I felt really comfortable on the bike and with the track, and felt like everything worked for me. I had good racecraft and I’m still happy with the result. I had some good battles today and it feels like my hard work during the week is paying off – now I’m hungry for more!”

The Traralgon round of the ProMX Championship also heralded the first round of the KTM Group MX65 Futures class. Victorian Mason Ezergailis showed his dominance by topping qualifying and winning both motos aboard his KTM 65 SX. Fellow Victorian and KTM rider Lucas Poole finished second overall to ensure a KTM 1-2 on the round podium.
