KTM Racing Team’s Kayden Minear has moved up the points standings following the third round of the 2024 Australian Supercross Championship in Saturday night's Wollongong Triple Crown, while Nathan Crawford made a return to racing with 11th overall in the SX1 class.
Having successfully made his way through the qualifying and heats, Minear was involved in a multi-rider crash midway through the first of the three finals, but was able to finish P16 after remounting in last position.

Aboard his KTM 250 SX-F, the Western Australian was able to put the incident behind him by logging two consistent P5 results in the final two outings. That saw him finish the night seventh overall, climbing to sixth in the SX2 championship standings.

Kayden Minear: "It was an eventful night, that’s for sure. In that first final I ended up on top of the bridge without my bike, so we put that race behind me. The second and third finals were solid, with two fifth-place results, and I’ve moved up to sixth in the championship. We moved forward in the points, so I’m happy with that. I felt my riding was really good today, so we’ll take that momentum into Adelaide in a couple weeks’ time."

Crawford also had an eventful return to AUSX action in the SX1 class on his way to 11th overall for the weekend onboard his KTM 450 SX-F. After starting the finals with P8 and P6 results, the Queenslander crashed late in the last race and dropped from sixth to 20th – severely affecting his overall result.

Having missed the first two rounds of the season, Crawford is now 18th in the SX1 standings heading into round four of the AUSX championship, which will take place in Adelaide, South Australia, on November 15-17.

Nathan Crawford: "I was hoping for more from my first race back, to be honest. Up until the last race of the night it’d gone okay, but I went down in a rhythm section and my bike landed on top of me, so it took a long time to get out from underneath it and get going again. If it hadn’t been for that crash I would’ve been on track for a sixth or seventh for the round, so it was a disappointing way to end the night. My starts were decent and I know my speed is good, so we’ll be looking to improve for the next round."

The CR22 85cc Cup saw Carr Brothers Motorcycles-supported rider Ritchie Lawler deliver an impressive ride, the local youngster landing on the main event podium with a second-place finish on his KTM 85 SX.
