KTM Racing Team's Kayden Minear claimed a pair of P6 results overall at the opening two rounds of the 2024 Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX), staged at Redcliffe’s Kayo Stadium in Queensland.
Equipped with the KTM 250 SX-F in the SX2 class, Minear displayed race-winning pace by taking his heat race victories in both rounds to commence the new season.

Saturday saw the Western Australian teenager race through two chaotic SX2 finals to post consistent 7-6 results and finish the opening night with a composed sixth overall.

Sunday again started strongly for Minear as he charged to a wire-to-wire win in his heat race. The two finals were a more mixed affair for him as he tried to move forward through the pack, ending the afternoon with 8-7 results for sixth overall, and he is placed P9 in the standings.

Kayden Minear: "I had a blast this weekend. It was really cool to win my two heat races and I had good starts both days. While there are definitely areas we can work on before the next round, I’m happy with my riding and I feel our speed is pretty good. Today was only my fifth time on a bike since being in the US, and my expectations this weekend were to ride my own race and not get involved in the carnage. We did just that. I’m stoked and already looking forward to Wollongong next month."

KTM Junior Racing Team talent Cooper Ford was also on track in the CR22 85 Cup, which he won last season, capturing second position in Saturday's main event, before unfortunately being caught up in a first turn incident and recovering to 12th place at round two.

The third round of the AUSX season will be contested at Wollongong's WIN Stadium in New South Wales on Saturday, November 2nd.
