KTM Racing Team's Dylan Walsh claimed a pair of consistent P6 results overall at the opening two rounds of the 2025 AUSX Supercross Championship, staged at Redcliffe’s Kayo Stadium in Queensland this past weekend.
Equipped with his KTM 450 SX-F, Walsh powered to the fourth fastest qualifying time during Saturday’s session, posting a 48.038s lap as the Redcliffe surface continued to dry under the Queensland sun.

The 27-year-old then charged to P4 in the first of two SX1 Finals, before a mid-field start in race two saw Walsh post a measured ride to finish 10th, and record sixth overall at the season-opening round.

For Round 2, Walsh was in form once again, qualifying fourth while earning P5 in his Heat Race. A 7-5 scorecard would see the SX1 racer continue his charge towards the front, as he completed the second round in P6 overall.

With his Redcliffe results, Walsh sits seventh in this year’s championship, just two points from P4.

Dylan Walsh: "It was a bit of a mixed bag for me across the opening two rounds of AUSX – which is to be expected given it's my first ever supercross on a 450, so to finish P4 in race one after running up front I thought was pretty good. The jet lag caught up to me late on Saturday, though, and had an impact on the result, but then some solid bike changes on Sunday made things better for me. It's great to get these first two out of the way – I'm aiming for podiums from here and thank you to the KTM Racing Team for putting in so much effort."

SX2 rider Noah Ferguson experienced a challenging outing at Round 1, recording the 13th fastest lap time onboard his KTM 250 SX-F, before earning a direct transfer to the Finals from his Heat Race.

Two results outside the top 10 left the Queenslander targeting more for the second leg of the Redcliffe double-header, which was on the cards as he powered to ninth overall on Sunday with an 11-7 scorecard.

Noah Ferguson: "Redcliffe wasn't exactly what we were looking for – I know that I can challenge and fight closer towards the front, so we'll be putting our best foot forward over the next two weeks to come out swinging in Cronulla."

KTM Racing Team’s Byron Dennis – also equipped with the KTM 250 SX-F – had an unfortunate fall during Saturday’s season-opening round, with the 18-year-old opting out of Sunday’s event altogether as both he and the team prioritise a complete recovery.

Byron Dennis: "I'm a bit disappointed with my fall during Saturday's Heat Race – I was in a good position there and then took a bit of a hit, which was a shame. I tweaked my back – I tried to ride through it on Sunday, but it just wasn't right, so we thought it was smart to prioritise recovery."

KTM Racing Team-supported Jackson Fuller was on track gaining AUSX Supercross experience in the SX3 ranks on the KTM 250 SX-F. After missing the Final on Saturday, he rebounded for 13th on Sunday afternoon in Round 2 of the season.

The start of the new season marked a strong result for KTM-mounted Hayden Mellross, who achieved fifth overall in the SX1 division on Saturday and third on Sunday, while KTM Junior Racing Team pair Nate Perrett and Ollie Birkitt sit second and third overall in the KTM SX85 Futures Class.
