KTM Canada Newsletter - October 18th, 2018,

Chambly, Qc. – On a fast paced track in Sainte Véronique, Québec, Phillipe Chainé secured the 2018 Fédération des Motocyclistes de Sentiers du Québec (FMSQ) Cross-Country championship aboard his KTM Canada supported 2018 KTM 250 XC-F.  Consistency played a major factor throughout the 8 race cross-country season as Phillipe landed on the podium at every single round, winning 4 races and finishing no lower than third the entire season.  2018 marks the second year in a row that Chainé has won this championship and adds to an already impressive list of accomplishments which include winning the FMSQ Championship back in 2010 and locking down the 2018 FMSQ Enduro Championship and 2018 National East Enduro Championship.

The last race of the Fédération des Motocyclistes de Sentiers du Québec (FMSQ) Cross-Country Championship took place at the sandy MX Rivière Rouge, in Sainte Véronique, Québec. Chainé fell early in the race putting him near the back of the pack.  After collecting himself, Phil worked his way through the field resulting in a spectacular ride to the front. Chainé managed to get all the way up to second place but a few mistakes towards the end of the race prevented him from taking the lead. Although it wasn’t the finish Chainé wanted, he was content with his effort and a second was good enough to secure the FMSQ Cross-Country Championship.

Phil Chainé: “It’s an honor for me to win the 2018 FMSQ Cross-Country Champion. Whether it’s racing here in Québec, around Canada or down in the US, the racers who participate have stepped up their game, upping the level of competition since my pro debut in 2009.”

Jean- Sebastien Roy (KTM Canada Race team manager): “Phil has been doing an amazing job for our Off Road program here in Canada. Phil has been around the Cross-Country racing scene for a long time and knows what it takes to perform in the woods.”

Adrien De Alexandris (KTM Canada General Manager): “We are very proud to have Phil onboard with us here at KTM Canada and have him collect podium after podium aboard his 2018 KTM 250 XC-F. On behalf of KTM Canada I would like to congratulate Phil for a great season and his second FMSQCross-Country Championship.”
