KTM Racing Team's Byron Dennis delivered an overall podium finish in Round 6 of the 2026 Australian ProMX Championship at Traralgon on Sunday, recording 7-3 moto scores to retain third in the MX2 standings, while teammate Dylan Walsh finished fourth overall.
Dennis arrived at the south-eastern Victorian venue looking to continue his strong ProMX campaign, with multiple overall podium finishes keeping the 19-year-old rider in the MX2 title fight.

Showing lap times comparable to the race leaders in Moto 1, crashes relegated the New South Welshman to an eventual seventh aboard his KTM 250 SX-F. He responded with a strong ride to third in Moto 2, securing the final step of the overall podium.

Dennis is ranked P3 in the MX2 standings after six rounds, 43 points from the series lead entering the penultimate round of the championship at Conondale, Queensland, on July 26.

Byron Dennis: “In Moto 1, it was just a case of over-riding the track – I got a bit frustrated and crashed a couple of times, which is the way it goes sometimes. Third in race two got me back on the podium, and I am happy to be on the box! The goal for the season was to podium every round and the last couple haven’t been ideal, so it’s good to be back towards the front.”

Also equipped with the KTM 250 SX-F, MX2 teammate Walsh qualified second at Traralgon, just 0.304s shy of pole position, before a start-straight crash in Moto 1 forced him to recover from last to fifth by the end of the race.

A fourth-place finish in Moto 2 earned him fourth overall for the round, with Walsh maintaining fourth in the MX2 championship standings with only two rounds remaining.

Dylan Walsh: “It was a tough day for me. I crashed on the start straight of race one and fought back from last to fifth, and then I spun on the gate in Moto 2, which had me way at the back again. I had good speed today, but I just needed to start up there with the front-runners. We’ll clean some things up and come out strong for Conondale.”

MX1 rider Zac Watson showed strong pace from the outset at Traralgon, posting the fifth-fastest qualifying time aboard his KTM 450 SX-F. Unfortunately, a heavy crash during the session brought an untimely end to his day, with further medical evaluation set to determine the extent of any potential injuries.

Zac Watson: “It was unfortunate not to line up for the racing – I had a solid get-off in qualifying and was quite banged up and sore. We’ll take the next two weeks to recover.”

Fresh from claiming his maiden MX3 victory at Appin, KTM Racing Team-supported rider Jackson Fuller arrived at Traralgon looking to build on that momentum. The youngster qualified fourth in Group 2 before recording 15-10 moto finishes to secure 10th overall.
