Brother Leader Tread KTM is gearing up for the second round of the National Enduro Championship. The event takes riders to the picturesque Dieprivier/ Lemoenskop area near Caledon in the Western Cape.

Sadly, star rider, Bradley Cox, remains absent from the event after an injury he sustained at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. Teammates Blake Gutzeit and Matthew Stevens will, however, fly the orange flag for the Brother Leader Tread KTM team.

As the youngest ever finisher of the Gold Class at the IMPI Enduro and a two time National Enduro Champion, Stevens will certainly prove to be an exciting prospect for this round of the competition. The rocky Cape Town terrain will no doubt suit the rising star. He mentioned feeling extremely excited for the route in store where he hopes to showcase his technical talent.

Gutzeit returns after a bad bout of the flu but is confident that the last three months will stand him in good stead. Gutzeit said, “I’m feeling really good on the bike. The terrain in Cape Town is quite unique, tough, and rocky. It also has lots of fynbos that makes the route quite unforgiving. A rider needs to be sharp and alert here.”

Adding to the excitement this weekend is a route set by Altus de Wet, a legend in the sport and the current Roof of Africa route director. The Dieprevier/Lemoenskop will challenge riders with carefully cut single-track that will require constant focus and attention.
