KTM EUROPEAN ADVENTURE RALLY: SAVE THE DATE The second ever European KTM ADVENTURE RALLY is now confirmed as happening on June 20-22 in Sardinia, with online registration open in March. Only 150 places are available for the incredible three-day adventure experience, offering those fortunate to get a space to experience their KTM machines amongst likeminded riders around the large Italian island in the summer. With the event’s home base in the town of Olbia, awaiting the exclusive group is the opportunity to conquer the island’s incredible variety of sea view sandy trails, twisty mountain passes and even extreme offroad routes with unexplored terrain. Fully organized by KTM and building on the huge success of last year’s first European KTM ADVENTURE RALLY in Bardonecchia, this year’s three-day guided rally is tailored to suit all rider abilities – from first year ADVENTURE riders up to seasoned ADVENTURE professionals. The event is only open to owners of the following KTM ADVENTURE models: 640, 690, 950, 990, 1050, 1090, 1190 & 1290. The first special guest and workshop host to be confirmed at the event is Chris Birch. In his long career, New Zealander Chris Birch has taken on some of the biggest challenges in motorbike riding: the ISDE, the Dakar Rally and Hard Enduro – where he won the Roof of Africa three times in succession. When he’s not competing at elite levels, Birch coaches offroad riding and has become infamous for demonstrating the very extreme capabilities of the KTM ADVENTURE range. A place on the KTM ADVENTURE RALLY costs 379 € and includes three days adventure riding with guides and special guests on marked routes with GPS data supplied. This is backed up with workshops to improve technical skills, tire support, technical and medical service, back-up bikes, daily dinner and an exclusive KTM goodie bag. There is also the option to offroad test ride the latest KTM ADVENTURE family. Accommodation at the event and ferry to the island must be booked separately by confirmed attendees on the KTM ADVENTURE RALLY, but KTM has organized special discounts with the chosen ‘home base’ hotel and also with the ferries to the island. To build a community feeling for the event, a closed Facebook group for confirmed riders of the event can also help with sharing accommodation, car pools and meet-ups on the way to the event.
