Webb Wins at Everett EnduroCross! EVERETT, Wash. - FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Cody Webb had another amazing night on Saturday at the Everett EnduroCross, the fourth round of the 2017 EnduroCross Series, held in Everett, Wash. After finishing second in the Gate Pick then dominating the bracket races to earn the important extra championship point, Webb earned yet another impressive main event win to extend his points lead in the class. Kacy Martinez overcame adversity and battled from the back of the pack all the way to third in the women’s class. Cody Webb started in the top five in the Super EX Gate Pick and soon slid into second after the start. He stayed within striking distance of the leader and made the pass for the lead in the second lap through the rock pile. He went down in the river rock section with two laps to go, but salvaged a second-place finish and moved on to the bracket races. He got the holeshot in his first bracket race and secured an easy win. He pulled another holeshot and nailed down another win in his second bracket race, then got second at the start of the final bracket race only to check up and take over the lead after the first corner. He held strong to take the win and earn the extra championship point. He was top-five at the start of the main and narrowly escaped a first-turn pileup. After charging into the lead a few turns later, he displayed perfect strategy by navigating his way through the No Joke Lane early in the race. He followed it up with clean line choices and a nice gap to take home another victory and earn max points on the night. He maintains his championship points lead. Webb: "I felt completely in sync with my bike all day. One small bobble in my qualifier was my only mistake and from there, I was able to put my head down and charge hard to the win." Kacy Martinez was coming off a win at the previous race held in Denver, Colo. and was looking for a repeat victory Saturday night in Everett. She was top three at start of the women's main, but got caught up in the wood pile and went to the back of the pack. She remounted and began to charge as she made an impressive pass in the rock pit two laps later before rocketing all the way up to third. She went after the second-place spot with two laps to go, but got caught up in the matrix and eventually finished third. She is currently second overall in rider points standings in the women’s class. Martinez: "A bit of a frustrating night with a crash in the first lap that put me in the back of the pack! From there, I regrouped and pushed to the finish. I just ran out of time and came through the finish right behind 2nd! I'll learn from my mistakes tonight and will focus on getting a better finish in the next round!” Next Event: Phoenix, Ariz. - October 28, 2017 EVERETT ENDUROCROSS RESULTS Super EnduroCross 1.
