Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Marvin Musquin scores his first-career 450 class podium 4th Rd. Pro Motocross 2016 – High Point, PA (USA) Following heavy rainfall throughout the day on Friday, the High Point Motocross track was on the muddy side for the morning’s qualifying sessions. Marvin Musquin prevailed through the conditions aboard his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to qualify 3rd overall for the day. Moto 1 In 450 Class Moto 1, Musquin got a good jump off the start to put himself into 4th on the opening lap. The 450 Class Rookie wasted no time pushing ahead as he climbed his way into 2nd place by lap three, passing Jason Anderson and Eli Tomac along the way. From there, Musquin put his head down and charged toward the leader of Ken Roczen. Musquin held strong for 17 laps of racing to finish 2nd place behind Roczen in Moto 1. “High Point is a really nice track, it’s really technical and rough. I won twice here on the 250 so I was really excited to come here on the 450,” Musquin said. Moto 2 In Moto 2, Musquin got off to another top-five start as he rounded the opening lap in 4th place once again. Tomac made a pass on Musquin to drop him back to 5th place momentarily but the Frenchman upped the pace on lap six to make a pass on Justin Barcia to reclaim the 4th place position. Musquin pushed hard in the final laps of the race, where he ultimately finished 4th place in Moto 2. With 2-4 moto scores, Musquin secured his first-career 450 Class podium at High Point. “We had a weekend off and I think it was good,” Musquin added. “We’ve been working hard and I was going good this weekend and I think it paid off. When you do everything right and you feel good in your head, it’s a good thing. Obviously there are a lot of things to work on still – we always want to do better – but in the end, it’s always good to have progress.” Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM’s Mitchell Oldenburg rides strong at High Point Raceway Mitchell Oldenburg and Shane McElrath took on the hills of Southern Pennsylvania for a beautiful day of racing at High Point Raceway for the fourth round of the season. Oldenburg collected his second top-10 finish of the season in sixth, while McElrath broke into the top 10 during Moto 2 to score 14th overall. Oldenburg rode strong all day on his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION despite the extremely rutted and rough conditions that the racetrack presented for two grueling motos. In the opening moto, Oldenburg had to show his passing skills after getting a mid-pack start, coming through the green flag in 19th. He did so quickly and was inside the top 10 around the halfway point, eventually making it up to seventh.   Oldenburg’s start was better in Moto 2, but he still had some work to do after starting Lap 2 in 13th. With the 250 riders lining up for the final moto of the day, the track was a huge obstacle, but Oldenburg was able to come away with another seventh place finish to claim sixth overall.   McElrath started the day running well in the first moto. He was inside the top 10 for most of the race, but fell back after a mistake and came across the checkered in 15th. Knowing he had the speed to be with the front runners, he charged hard in Moto 2 and improved his score to ninth, giving him 14th overall.   The team missed fellow riders Jessy Nelson, Alex Frye, and Justin Hill who did not race due to injuries.   The series heads to the South’s only race at Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tennessee on June 25, giving the riders a chance to navigate some new and different soil.
