KTM GIVES MEDIA AN EXCLUSIVE LOOK BEHIND THE ORANGE CURTAIN Journalists were treated to an exclusive BEHIND THE SCENES event at KTM, showcasing the unmatched quality and precision that defines the Austrian-made, READY TO RACE brand. Here, the media was able to follow the same journey KTM products undertake from Concept, Design, R&D, Testing, Production facility and lastly an intense riding experiencing of the final product. Over two days, the attendees were able to fully experience and appreciate what makes KTM tick, with a detailed presentation laying the foundation. Here, they learned how Strategic Product Management (SPM), Design, and Product Management (PM) – although separate disciplines with distinct and important responsibilities – work together to create harmonious interactions between people and products. The team also included a detailed prototype viewing of the highly anticipated and upcoming KTM 990 RC R, along with its various stages of development, including the clay model. This paved the way for detailed facility tours, starting in R&D where they could see how essential KTM components are tried and tested before going into production. The group then had the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the Engine plant, which was followed by KTM Components (WP Suspension, Frames and Exhaust plant) and finally seeing where all the various parts come together in the Motorcycle Production facility. That evening, Florian Kecht, CSO of KTM AG, who oversees Global Sales, Customer Service, Global Marketing and Business Development, gave the journalists a detailed overview of PIERER Mobility AG plans. This discussion was critical in explaining the ethos behind KTM and how the current global economic climate has been navigated. He also set out how KTM would forever remain a proudly Austrian brand – with production rooted in Austria. The following day, the media had the privileged opportunity to test ride no less than 15 highly coveted KTM prototypes – including those of models still to come. This gave the journalists first-hand experience with up-and-coming tech, as well as a few secret developments. The event came to a close with an extensive tour of KTM Motohall and with a stunt show by Supermoto racer and KTM ambassador Lukas Höllbacher, followed by a dinner with KTM departmental VPs at The Garage. The media came away with a more attuned understanding of KTM's innovative approach to motorcycling and its commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance and technology.
